Antique Victorian marquise banded agate with a mounted silver clasp. The gemstone is orange in colour with bands of white, yellow and grey.
Queen Victorian frequented Scotland and her castles, the area became very popular to visit and Scottish dress and jewellery became very fashionable. During the Victorian era the English were riding on trains seeing parts of the country previously inaccessible, consequently, souvenir jewellery was very popular and easier to transport.
